What Is a Prophet? Or: How a Greedy King Killed a Helpless Peasant and Incurred the Wrath of God

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this session, we'll do a close reading of a remarkable story about how the king and queen of Israel arrange for the murder of a peasant who gets in their way. All goes according to plan and corrupt power goes unchecked... until Elijah, God's prophet, shows up, vociferously condemns them, and announces that their entire kingdom will be destroyed.

This session made possible by a grant from the Covenant Foundation.
